What is inertial measurement?
Inertial measurement consists in accelerating the motorcycle on the dynamometer, and then, after declutching, waiting for the motorcycle to stop without using the brake. The engine load is: the weight of rollers and rolling resistance as well as the resistance of the drive mechanism. The measurement time is about 10-30 seconds of full load and a few minutes - rolling freely down the dynamometer until it stops. Power and torque are measured as functions of acceleration of the motorcycle on rollers (power, torque on the wheels) and its deceleration (power and loss moment). Their sum creates a result representing the power and torque of the engine.
Inertial mode is therefore safer for the engine than load mode because it requires a shorter full load time.

Why really measure a motorcycle on a dynamometer?
By testing a motorcycle on a dynamometer, you will learn not only how many horses a motorcycle has. Measurement on the dynamometer also often allows you to diagnose various defects, including those less typical. It also allows you to check whether a fault has actually occurred, or the so-called the feeling of lack of power is due to getting used to the motorcycle's performance.
Measurement of power and torque is also a great way to check the engine after repair or replacement of injection system components. The course of power and torque also shows the condition of our engine. Before any modification, each motorcycle goes to the dynamometer to check the current condition.
